TYPE LOCALITY: Unknown. Restricted by Mearns (1896:444) to Santa Cruz Valley at the Mexican boundary, Santa Cruz Co., Arizona [USA].

DISTRIBUTION: Arizona to SW New Mexico (USA) and adjoining Sonora, Mexico.

SYNONYMS: kinoensis Huey, 1937; saxicolus (Mearns, 1896).
