DISTRIBUTION: SW Chihuahua (Mexico).

COMMENTS: Subgenus Callospermophilus (Hall, 1981:410) . Gromov et al. (1965:150) considered Callospermophilus a subgenus of the genus Otospermophilus . Reviewed by Best and Thomas (1991 b, Mammalian Species, 378).
