Diagnosis. The following combination of characteristics distinguishes this group from other Merodon Meigen, 1803 groups: mesocoxa pilose posteriorly, anterior anepisternum with pilose area ventral to postpronotum, in male genitalia anterior lobe of surstylus undeveloped.
