Lectotype. BMNH, sex? [‘‘Syntype’’ (white disc with light blue border) / ‘‘Chakrata Dist., Manjgaon, 65009’’ / ‘‘ Dr. Cameron, 21.V.22’’ / ‘‘ T. castaneus Cam. TYPE’’ / ‘‘Lectotype’’ (white disc with purple border) / ‘‘LECTOTYPE, Tinotus castaneus Cameron, desig. R. S. Hanley 2000’’] (here designated). Lectotype designation is justified under article 74.1.1 of the ICZN (1999) in order to fix the status of this specimen as the sole name­bearing type of this species.

Type Locality. INDIA: Uttar Pradesh, Chakrata, Manjgaon, alt. 6,500 ft.
