Lectotype. USNM #38973 (Casey Collection), sex? [‘‘Tex.’’ / ‘‘Casey bequest 1925’’ / ‘‘Type USNM 38973’’ (orange) / ‘‘ densiventris Csy. ’’ / ‘‘LECTOTYPE, Tinotus densiventris Casey, desig. R. S. Hanley 2000’’ (red)] (here designated). Lectotype designation is justified under article 74.1.1 of the ICZN (1999) in order to fix the status of this specimen as the sole name­bearing type of this species.

Type Locality. U.S.A.: Tex. (Texas), ( Waco —on the Brazos River 100 miles from Austin, North).
