Synaphobranchus bathybius Günther, 1877:445 (type locality: south of Tokyo, Japan and South Atlantic between Cape of Good Hope and Kerguelen Island).

Voucher specimen: ASIZP 66208 (Suao, Yilan, northeastern Tawian).

Remarks. This is a new record for Taiwan, and it is only represented by a single specimen collected from northeastern Taiwan at 2204–2334 m.
