Congromuraena guttulata Günther, 1887:252 (type locality: off Matuku, Fiji Islands). Voucher specimens: USNM 401083 (Dong-gang); NMMB-P 4041 (Dong-gang).

Remarks. This is a new record for Taiwan. It is a rare species collected by bottom trawl off southwestern Taiwan.
