Clelia clelia (Daudin, 1803)

Type locality. Suriname .

Distribution. Known from Argentina, Bolívia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Trinidad, and Venezuela, mainly in Amazonia and in the Atlantic Forest of the Paraná River drainage (Plt. 310A). In Brazil, widespread in Amazonia and marginally in the Pantanal (Plt. 310A), mostly at low elevations (Plt. 310B). Previous maps and taxonomy in Zaher (1996). Observed in the field in forest (Gaiarsa et al., 2013).
