Micrurus spixii Wagler in Spix, 1824

Type locality. Rio Solimões, state of Amazonas, Brazil .

Distribution. Known from Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru in Amazonia (Plt. 112A). In Brazil, widespread in Amazonia, with marginal records in the northern portion of the Cerrado (Plt. 112A), at low elevations (Plt. 112B). Previous maps and taxonomy in Roze (1996), Campbell and Lamar (2004), and Silva Jr. et al. (2016). Observed in the field in primary and secondary forest (Cunha and Nascimento, 1993; Martins and Oliveira, 1998; Campbell and Lamar, 2004; Silva Jr. et al., 2016).
