Type locality. Suriname .

Distribution. Known from Bolívia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela, along forested regions (Plt. 44A). In Brazil, widespread in Amazonia and the northern portion of the Atlantic Forest, forming a disjunct distribution, with scattered records in the northern portion of the Cerrado (Plt. 44A), mostly at low elevations (Plt. 44B). Observed in the field in primary and secondary forest and gallery forest (Bernarde and Abe, 2006; Rocha et al., 2004; Passos and Fernandes, 2008; Santana et al., 2008).
