Nucula storrsi Stanton, 1895
(Fig. 13)
Nucula storrsi Stanton, 1895, p. 52, pl. 6, figs. 13, 14.
Material and occurrence. Five specimens from Paskenta (Tithonian, Late Jurassic) and two specimens from Eagle Creek (Late Barremian, Early Cretaceous); Stanton’s type specimen from the Paskenta seep deposit was also investigated (USNM 23048).
Remarks. As already noted by Stanton (1895) this elongate species resembles nuculanids but the forward pointing beaks suggest it to be a nuculid. To Stanton’s (1895) description we can only add that the species indeed has taxodont dentition.
