Distribution: Palearctic. Austria, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia (European part, E. Russia), Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, U.K. (England, Scotland, Wales), Ukraine.
Larval host plant(s): Carex digitata L., C. ericetorum Pollich, C. flacca Schreber, C. humilis Leysser, C. ornithopoda Willd., C. pilosa Scop. (Cyperaceae) (Stainton 1858a; E.M. Hering 1951; Wörz 1957). There are also records from Poaceae that require verification.
