Remarks: The monotypic genus Illantis was based on the species picroleuca Meyrick, 1921b: 187 . The holotype is without abdomen, but the external appearance is in all respects similar to species of Elachista sg. Elachista, in the saccahrella species group. On this basis Illantis is considered as a junior subjective synonym of Elachista Treitschke.
