Larval host plant(s): Holcus mollis L., Stipa pennata L. ( Poaceae) (Gaedike 1975; Parenti & Varalda 1994).
Figs.: Gaedike (1975), Budashkin & Sinev (1991) (as E. tauricella), Kaila (2012a).
Remarks: Kaila (1999a: 165) synonymized E. tauricella Sinev & Budashkin but provided no evidence. The synonymy was based on the overall similarity of these taxa, and the absence of any differentiating characters, cf. Budashkin & Sinev (1991) and Kaila (2012a); the authors of E. tauricella did not compare it to E. hedemanni . This synonymy is confirmed by the examination of specimens from the type locality of E. tauricella, and is followed here. The record of E. hedemanni from Spain by Parenti & Domínguez (1995) is likely referable to E. cirrhoplica Kaila.
