Diagnosis. Medium size (3.5 mm) (Fig. 38A). Ocellar triangle flat; antenna dark brown (Fig. 38B). Scutum rounded, as broad as mesopleuron (Fig. 38A). Legs with coxae, trochanters, apical half to apical 2/3 of hind femur and apical half of hind tibia brown, otherwise yellow (Figs 38A, C, D); mid tibia with 2 bristles about as long as mid tibia (1AD on basal third, 1AV on basal half); hind femur strongly swollen with 1AV row of spiniform bristle inserted on prominent tubercles (Fig. 38C), slightly swollen on females (Fig. 38D). Wing hyaline, pterostigma brown, wide, filling or ending near apex of cell r 1; R 2+3 slightly angulate apically; second section of M 1 slightly longer than crossvein r-m (Fig. 38E).

Distribution. Brazil (Acre, Amazonas, Pará and Maranhão *) (Fig. 52); Colombia *, Peru and Venezuela. Syneches repletus is recorded only from the Amazon biome.

Remarks. Syneches repletus is similar to S. manaos, the former differing mainly by R 2+3 only slightly angulate apically and characters of male terminalia (see also “Remarks” under S. manaos).
