Ecology. Endogeic, euryoecious species occurring mostly at arable and grassland sites with low soil organic matter content (≤ 4%) (Jänsch et al. 2013), but also in forest soil (Bösener 1965).
Zoogeographical distribution type. Peregrine species native to the Palaearctic, but introduced all over the world (Csuzdi & Zicsi 2003).
