Diagnosis: Body reddish-brown, shiny, with sparse golden setation; with long, pointed ocular spines; eyes always present but reduced to 3–6 ommatidia, lateral margins of head with long, pointed ocular spine to each side, with long, bristling setae. External striae of first abdominal tergite oblique, remote from the margin towards base and converging it apically, first visible abdominal tergite with deep fovea between two prominent median longitudinal carinae, posterior tibiae in males more or less dilated and expanded apically, with numerous long apical setae, aedeagus slender, with pointed, laterally curved apical lobe.
