Genus Cyta von Heyden, 1826

Type species: Scirus latirostris Hermann, 1804 (Original designation) Cyta latirostris (Hermann, 1804); Von Heyden (1826)

Diagnosis. According to Atyeo (1960) this genus is characterized by: subcapitulum with two pairs of strong setae and two pairs of small adoral setae; genital vestibule with well–developed genital pseudotracheae; cheliceral bases inflated, chelae massive with movable digit sickle–shaped; unpaired median seta immediately anterior of genital opening; integument soft, striated; unpaired median eye between anterior sensilla (vi).
