Generic diagnosis. Large size. Femoral spines black, costal vein of tegmen white, anterior edge black. Male left tegmen with stridulatory file strongly swollen, right tegmen with a small transparent area, stridulatory teeth on underside of left tegmen regularly arranged, sometimes slightly varied at both basal and apical areas; tenth abdominal tergum elongated, with a central process, or with together a central and a pair of forcipate lateral processes, or with a pair of forcipate lateral processes only; cerci long, conical, upcurved generally; epiproct greatly developed, frequently with apical spine(s) or processes; subgenital plate broad and split deeply; styli short. Ovipositor equally broad throughout, curved upwards, dorsal valvula with apex truncated and serrated, ventral valvula with apex spiniferous; female subgenital plate with apex notched.
