REMARKS

Schmalfuss& Ferrara(1978) described this species as Leptotrichus atracheatus Schmalfuss & Ferrara, 1978, but later Schmalfuss (1982) placed it in the genus Niambia . In its description, Schmalfuss & Ferrara (1978) placed a question mark in the locality from Zampalma (São Tomé) given that: “the tube also contains a label:« Luanda, Angola, Aug.1949, L. F.Galbraith»”. The collected specimens mentioned in the previous section allowed us to attest that this species is indeed found on this island.
