Nearctic: 1) Mexico (north) (Guzmán-Cornejo & Robbins 2010).

Clifford et al. (1973) and Camicas et al. (1998) listed Ixodes tamaulipas as a Neotropical species, but Guglielmone et al. (2003, 2014, 2020) pointed out that the only known record of this tick is from a Nearctic locality, an observation confirmed here.
