Afrotropical: 1) Democratic Republic of the Congo, 2) Rwanda, 3) Uganda (Elbl & Anastos 1966c, Matthysse & Colbo 1987, Walker et al. 2000).

Kolonin (2009) included Angola within the geographic distribution of Rhipicephalus dux, but its presence in that country was regarded as unconfirmed by Walker et al. (2000), and we agree.
