Debus defensus (Blandford) comb. n.

Xyleborus defensus Blandford, 1894: 118 .

Taxonomy: Blandford’s holotype was examined by RAB (NHML). We have also studied a specimen collected and identified by Nobuchi (NMNH), and a specimen from Japan in RAB. The morphology of the species is consistent with that of Debus Hulcr & Cognato, 2010, with the elytral declivity impressed, its apex emarginate, and declivital margins elevated and armed with spines.
