Pachyerannis obliquaria (Motschulsky)

(Fig. 10)

Material examined. 2 ♂, Kholmsk, east outskirts of downtown area, near oak forest, ~ 47°02’36”N, 142°02’55”E, 27.X.2021, 21.X.2022, O. Titova legit.

Distribution. Russia (S RFE: SW * Sakhalin, S Khabarovskii Krai, S Amurskaya Oblast, Primorskii Krai), Japan (Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu), North Korea, South Korea.

Remarks. The finding of P. obliquaria in Sakhalin significantly expands its distribution range to the northeast. The larvae are polyphagous on deciduous trees, but prefer various species of Quercus ( Fagaceae). In addition to the collected moths, a mass flight of males was observed in an oak forest near the collection site during the daytime of October 22 and 24, in 2022. Probably, in Sakhalin this species is local and strictly associated to oak forests on the southern sunlit slopes.
