Margarodes sinensis (Silvestri, 1938)

Promargarodes sinensis Silvestri, 1938b: 22 . Type data: CHINA: Peitao (Foochow, Fukien), Peikuan (Foochow) and Kiukaw (Hankow). Lectotype, female and first instar, by subsequent designation (Foldi 2005: 100). Type depository: Dipartimento de Entomologia e Zoologia Agraria di Portici, Universita di Napoli Federico II, Portici, Italy.

Host plants: Unknown.

Distribution: China (Hubei, Fujian).

Remarks: Silvestri (1938b) and Foldi (2005) described and illustrated the adult female of M. sinensis; Jakubski (1965) and Tang & Hao (1995) described the adult female and cyst. The species developed a large population in Fuqing, Putian, Zhangzhou, and other counties of Fujian province in the 1970s (Yang 1979). Specimens have not been seen in this study.
