Brumptomyia mesai Sherlock 1962, 332 (male description). Type-locality: Colombia, Santander, San Vicente de Chucuri. Brumptomyia mesai was recorded in Veracruz at the localities of Sontecomapan and Arroyo Agrio (Municipality of Catemaco) (Ibáñez-Bernal 1999). In the current study it was collected from a locality 882 m asl, at the central portion of the state in which dry tropical forest is predominate.
