HOLOTYPE: AMNH 717692, adult male, collected at Bāhū Kālāt (= Bagu-Kelat), 25.42N, 61.28E (Times Atlas), Baluchistan, Iran, on 2 March 1901, by Nicolai Zarudny (no. 3901). From the Rothschild Collection.

COMMENTS: In the original description, Hartert gave Zarudny’s number of the holotype and the range as ‘‘Sindh, Baluchistan, südliches Afghanistan, und Persien.’’ The following paratypes, all collected by Zarudny in Iran, are in AMNH: Bampur, AMNH 717690, 717691, male, female, June and July 1898; Bāhū Kālāt, AMNH 717693– 717698, five males, one female; Rambil, AMNH 717699, 717700, males; Bulyu, AMNH 717701; Bag, AMNH 717702; Baliu, AMNH 717703, male; Nukendfaga, AMNH 717704, female; Parag, AMNH 717705, female; Gunitch, AMNH 717706, male; Goarpocht, AMNH 717707, female; Raz, AMNH 717708, female. All were collected in March and April 1901. Also from Seistan, AMNH 717709–717713, four males, one female, all collected in June 1901.

This form has been included in the genus Petronia by some authors.
