HOLOTYPE: AMNH 725619, adult male, collected at Tamatave, 18.10S, 49.23E (Times Atlas), Madagascar, on 21 August 1891. From the Rothschild Collection.
COMMENTS: In the original description, Rothschild designated as type the specimen collected at Tamatave on 21 August 1891 and noted that he had three specimens. The two paratypes are: Tamatave, AMNH 725620, adult male, collected on 17 July 1891; Ankoraka, AMNH 725621, adult male, collected on 7 March 1891 . All three of these specimens were bought from A. Boucard.
