HOLOTYPE: AMNH 668703, adult male, collected at Huíla (= Huilla), 15.04S, 13.33E (Times Atlas), Huíla Province, (= part of former Mossamedes), Angola, on 23 July 1906, by W.J. Ansorge (no. 2376). From the Rothschild Collection.

COMMENTS: In the original description, Hartert and Neumann cited Ansorge’s unique number of the holotype; they gave the range as Mossamedes. The single paratype in AMNH is from Chibia, AMNH 668704 , adult male, 3 February 1906, collected by Ansorge (no. 309) .
