HOLOTYPE: AMNH 671767, adult male, collected at Lerundo, 00.09N, 34.51E (Chapin, 1954a), Kenya, on 21 March 1917, by H.J. Allen Turner (no. 1814) for Col. Meinertzhagen. From the Rothschild Collection.

COMMENTS: In the original description, van Someren cited Turner’s field number of the holotype in the Rothschild Collection and noted that several specimens were taken by Turner and others by van Someren’s collectors in the same area. The range was given as Elgon and N. Kavirondo. Paratypes in AMNH are: Lerundo, AMNH 671766, 671768, 671769, one male, two females, 15–19 March 1917, collected by Turner (nos. 1684, 1556, 1760).

Chapin (1954a) gave the coordinates of Nyarondo as 00.07S, 35.08E. Lerundo is the locality written on the labels. Neither of these localities is listed by Polhill (1988).
