Genus Tranomeringia Sasakawa
Tranomeringia Sasakawa, 1966: 98 . Type species, Tranomeringia zosteriformis Sasakawa, 1966, fixed by original designation.
Diagnosis. This genus is closely related to the genus Heteromeringia, differing in having the extremely strong, upturned vibrissa in the male, conical surstylus, circular hypandrium without setae, two stout apical setae on postgonite, and well-developed paraphallus.
Remarks. This genus was synonymized with Heteromeringia by Lonsdale and Marshall (2008a). But, its male vibrissa and genitalia are more distinctive than those of the genera Heteromeringia and Melanoclusia Lonsdale and Marshall, 2008b . It should, therefore, be resurrected as a valid genus. Two species are known from the Orient and New Guinea (Sasakawa 1966), and the third new species is described below.
