Remarks: We also have 1 ♂ lectotype and 20 ♂♂ paralectotypes. We are not sure why Shelley decided to designate a lectotype. Seemingly this was done in his revision of the genus (Shelley 1997), but there he cites the holotype and makes no mention of a lectotype. The only clue would be his acknowledgement of G. G. Edwards for sending him the syntype series of Motyxia porrecta . Below are the data of the lectotype and the paralectotypes:

Lectotype: 1 ♂. MALE PARATYPES // MOTYXIA PORRECTA Causey & Tiemann // Polydesmidae: Xystodesmidae // Motyxia porrecta Causey & Tiemann / Male SYNTYPES, Sig. Shelley, 1995 // Motyxia porrecta Causey & Tiemann / M Lectotype / 20 Male paralectotypes / Sig. Conservation status: Fair condition; in 75% EtOH; specimen in microvial.

Additional notes: Paralectotypes: 20 ♂♂, same location data as lectotype; FSCA 00071015 – FSCA 00071034 .
