Distribution: Neotropical – Argentina (Buenos Aires, Misiones, Santa Fe, Santiago del Estero).
Type material examined: Lectotype ɗ and paralectotypes 3 ɗ, 1 Ψ of Sarcophodexia wagneri Blanchard, designated by Pape (1994), Santiago del Estero, 1919 (MACN).
Other material studied: Buenos Aires: 1 ɗ Bahia San Blas, Patagones, II.1947 (ANLIS).
Remarks: Blanchard’s (1939) original description included good illustrations of the male terminalia. The female was also described but not illustrated.
