Material examined. Brazil, Ceará: 1 hermaphrodite, LABOMAR-UFC 18, Fortaleza, Praia do Meireles, coll. unknown, 18.ix.1967.
Distribution. Western Atlantic: Caribbean Sea (Panama) and Brazil (Ceará, Sergipe, Bahia, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo) (Rhyne & Lin 2006; Baeza 2008; Barros-Alves et al. 2015; present study).
Remarks. The Ceará material identified as Lysmata wurdemanni (Gibbes, 1850) by Fausto-Filho (1970a) was re-identified as L. bahia during the present study, representing a new record of this species for the state of Ceará and the northern-most record in Brazil.
