Diagnosis. Forewing length is 11.5– 14 mm in males and 12.5– 13 mm in females. The species varies in its size and expression of forewing markings. A reliable identification of males from those of the sympatric B. ketiga sp. n. is possible by the genital structures only. Female of B. diehli can be distinguished from that of B. ketiga sp. n. by its broader and more diffuse forewing markings. In the male genitalia, the number of spines in aedeagus vesica in specimens dissected varies from 6 to 11. The genital differences between B. diehli and B. ketiga sp. n. are given in the diagnosis of the latter.
Distribution. Indonesia (Sumatra Island) (Dubatolov & Bucsek 2014), Peninsular Malaysia (Bucsek 2014, as B. phaeoxanthia partly), Cambodia (Bae et al. 2016; Bayarsaikhan et al. 2018, as B. phaeoxanthia), Myanmar (Kachin State) and Laos (Champasak Province).
