Taxonomic history. Junior subjective synonym of Myrmilla Wesmael, 1851 according to Bischoff, 1920: 54. Resurrected as distinct taxon by Brothers, 1975: 591 . Senior subjective synonym of Bisigilla Skorikov, 1927 . Valid generic name.
Sex association. The male of the type species was associated and identified (as Mutilla angusticollis Spinola, 1843: 132) by Sichel & Radoszkowski, 1870: 220.
