Taxonomic history. Reduced to subgeneric status (in Trogaspidia Ashmead, 1899) by Olsoufieff, 1938: 182. Transferred with subgeneric status (to Timulla Ashmead, 1899) by Krombein, 1951b: 288. Reinstated to generic status by Krombein, 1972: 5. Valid generic name.

Sex association. The male of the type species was associated and identified (as Mutilla moerens André, 1899a: 34) by Olsoufieff, 1938: 185.
