Taxonomic history. Raised to generic status by Lelej, 1985b: 190. Valid generic name.

Sex association. The female of the type species was associated and identified (as Mutilla curtiventris André, 1901b: 269) by Pagliano & Strumia, 2007: 69; the presumed females of other species were originally associated and described by Lelej & Kabakov, 1980: 195.

Distribution. Palaearctic, Oriental.
