Taxonomic history. Raised to generic status by Pate, 1947: 196. Reduced to subgeneric status (in Myrmosa) by Krombein, 1976: 257. Reinstated to generic status by Suárez, 1979a: 309. Subjective senior synonym of Morysmula Suárez, 1963 . Valid generic name.

Sex association. The female of the type species was described by Lelej, 1985b: 66.
