Taxonomic history. Raised to generic status by Lelej, 1995a: 2. Senior subjective synonym of Horaia Tsuneki, 1993 not Tonnoir, 1930. Valid generic name.

Sex association. The female of the type species was associated and identified (as Mutilla coronata Fabricius, 1793: 369) by Morawitz, 1865: 133.
