Trachyusa Ruthe, 1854: 351 . Type species: Trachyusa nigriceps Ruthe, 1854: 352 (monobasic and original designation). Cosmiocarpa Förster, 1862: 264. Type species: Alysia aurora Haliday, 1838: 217 . Synonymized by Reinhard in Taschenberg (1866: 90) by transfer of type species, but synonymy already indicated by Förster (1862: 283).
Diagnosis. Antenna not widened, with 26–28 flagellomeres, first flagellomere slightly longer than second (Fig. 2); maxillary and labial palpi with 6 and 4 palpomeres, respectively; eyes glabrous (Fig. 3); ventral margin of clypeus convex (Fig. 3); anterior tentorial pits medium-sized (Fig. 3); third tooth of mandible without ventral protuberance (Fig. 5), upper margin of second tooth with orthogonal protuberance, base of mandible with very long pubescence (Fig. 5); pronope absent (Fig. 4); notauli wide and long, with medio-longitudinal midpit posteriorly (Figs 4, 7); sternaulus present medially (Fig. 6); metanotum protruding dorsally (Fig. 6); vein 2RS of fore wing longer than vein 3RSa (Fig. 1); vein 1m-cu of fore wing (sub)interstitial (Fig. 1); vein 2cu-a of fore wing absent, first subdiscal cell open (Fig. 1); pterostigma of female elliptical (Fig. 1); veins cu-a of hind wing and (RS+M)a of fore wing present (Fig. 1); vein M+CU of hind wing subequal to vein 1M or shorter (Fig. 1); tarsal claws medium-sized, simple and without lobe; dorsope of first metasomal tergum absent (Fig. 8); second metasomal tergum and basal half of third granulate (Fig. 8); second and third metasomal terga with sharp lateral crease (Fig. 9); ovipositor sheath short, slightly protruding beyond apex of metasoma, setose (Fig. 9); ovipositor slender, without notch and somewhat curved ventrad.
Distribution. Palaearctic (Yu et al. 2012).
