Arixyleborus crenulatus (Eggers, 1920) comb. nov.
Xyleborus crenulatus Eggers, 1920: 117 .
Xyleborus mpangae Browne, 1965: 202 . Schedl 1970: 224.
Remarks. The holotype of X. mpangae (NHMUK) was examined. The species is transferred to Arixyleborus Hopkins, 1915 because of the following characteristics: antennal club obliquely truncate with segment 1 nearly covering the posterior face (type 2), club wider than long; scutellum visible, flush with the elytra; elytral declivity obliquely truncate and bearing strial furrows and interstrial ridges and with six striae. The holotype of X. crenulatus in the Hagedorn collection in the Hamburg Museum was destroyed in World War II (Schedl 1963) but images of a specimen determined by Schedl were examined.
Distribution. ‘East Africa’, Uganda.
