Scopelogadus bispinosus (Gilbert, 1915) .
Twospine Bigscale. To 17.5 cm (6.9 in) SL (Roberts et al. 2015). Southwest of La Perouse Bank (48°08’N, 126°36’W), British Columbia (Peden and Jamieson 1988) to Chile (Ebeling and Weed 1963). Mesopelagic and bathypelagic; depth: surface to 4,335 m (14,220 ft) (min.: Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California; max.: Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California). Previously considered a subspecies of Scopelogadus mizolepis (Günther, 1878) . A record of 6,200 m (20,336 ft) (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California) was based on the maximum depth fished by a beam trawl and may represent a catch shallower than the maximum depth.
