Bandtail Frogfish. To 7.8 cm (3.1 in) SL (Theodore Pietsch). A record of 15 cm (5.9 in) SL (Mejía-Ladino et al. 2007) is very likely an error. Lower Gulf of California and southern tip of Baja California (Schneider and Lavenberg in Fischer et al. 1995) to Ecuador (Béarez 1996), including Islas Galápagos (Grove and Lavenberg 1997), and other offshore islands (Robertson and Allen 2002).
