Polistes orlandoi Somavilla & Carpenter, 2022: 12, ♂.

Diagnosis. Male. Body pigmentation yellow-brown with black marks in the ocelli and occipital band, scutum yellowish with three distinct longitudinal black stripes. Wings pigmentation hyaline to light brownish. Intermediate size, maximum 17 mm in total length. Clypeus long than wider, entire surface with yellow pubescence, with bristles only in apical portion and very shallow and spaced punctures, apex pointed; clypeus-eye touching by less than the width of the antennal socket; central region of the gena narrower, width equal to the eyes; occipital carina strong in the sides, but weaker and more irregular in the middle; humeri slightly projecting; epicnemial carina incomplete; mesepisternum with short and dense bristles, small and shallow punctation; propodeal concavity widely extended in the center, propodeal striae distinct fine only in the furrow; tergum I longer than wide, with short and dense bristles, very weakly spaced punctation; tergum II as wide as long, short and dense bristles, weak and spaced punctures.
