DISTRIBUTION: S.W. British Columbia; C. Iowa; S. California to S.W. Kansas (U.S.A.), south to Uruguay; Cuba; Jamaica; Hispaniola.

COMMENT: Called Tadarida molossa by Hall and Kelson, 1959:208, and Tadarida macrotis by Hall, 1981:245; but see Husson, 1962, Zool. Meded. Rijks. Mus. Nat. Hist. Leiden, 58:256-259. May be a monotypic species, but it needs systematic revision (BVR).
