DISTRIBUTION: S.W. and S. E. Australia.
COMMENT: See McKean et al., 1978, Aust. J. Zool., 26: 532, 534. Because of the confusion about this species, Pipistrellus Kaup, 1829, sensu Thomas, 1906, and Registrellus Troughton, 1943 should be included in the synonomy of Eptesicus; see Hill, 1966, Mammalia, 30:302-307.
