Biology: The species was recorded from Castanopsis sp. (Fagaceae) by Wood and Yin (1986). In Thailand, it occurs above 1300 m in the hill evergreen forest where Fagaceae are dominant, and has been collected from ‘chestnut’ (probably Castanopsis sp.). The habits of the species have not been described, but as a member of the subtribe Corthylina, it is most probably an ambrosia beetle (Wood 2007).
