Thai distribution: S: Nakhon Sri Thammarat. New to Thailand.

New record: Nakhon Sri Thammarat, Khao Luang NP, EtOH trap, 1.iii.2010 (W. Sittichaya) (1) .

Other distribution: Indonesia (Sumatera), Malaysia (E. & W.), Philippines. Intercepted in Japan in timber from the region. (3)

Taxonomy: The species is listed in Wood and Bright (1992) under Xyleborus, but has the morphological characters of Fortiborus (Hulcr & Cognato 2010), and is here transferred to that genus. It is closely related to Fortiborus major (Stebbing) .

Biology: All host records (except one) are from trees in the family Dipterocarpaceae, and the species, like others in the genus, is evidently closely associated with that family.
