Other distribution: Indonesia (Java), Malaysia (E. & W.). Intercepted in Japan in timber imported from East Malaysia (Sabah). The species also occurs in Brunei Darussalam and Indonesia (Sulawesi) (R. A. Beaver, unpublished records). (3)
Biology: Polyphagous (Browne 1961a). The gallery system resembles that of M. corporaali (see above).
